Taking Sawyer Home

Good morning, Sawyer. How was your night of sleep?

I can answer that question for him. His night of sleep was not very good :) But we made it through! Since he was Coombs Positive and had a high chance of becoming jaundice, I knew I needed to get him to eat frequently and a good amount each time. So, he nurse and took formula with each feeding all night long. He did wonderful with the eating part. The gas was the killer. During the night, the nurse took him to the nursery and weighed him. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz. He passed his hearing screen. He was just doing fabulous!

Our morning nurse came in and was the same nurse we had had the day before... Miss Terri. She was fabulous. I am pretty sure she was the charge nurse too. You can just tell when they are. She had some students/interns with her. They were really funny...doing everything by the book. Miss Terri, not so much. She was really chill with me and didn't require me to do anything. Loved her. When she came in the room at 8 am, she told me that she had all of my paperwork almost done. The nursery just had to finish Sawyer's part. So I got up, packed up, got ready, they drew his blood, and we were ready to go by 9:15. We just had to wait for Alex. Eventually he showed up :)

Ready to go home!

Daddy is excited to have us all together!

Cute little shoes. I can't believe I have a baby boy!!

All buckled in, shades on, ready to rock!!!

We made a quick stop at CVS for gripe water, vaseline, guaze, and gas medicine. I was NOT prepared at home to be taking care of a circumcision :) But after our quick stop, we were on our way!!!

And we had a VERY excited little girl waiting for us when we got home.

She couldn't believe that we actually brought him with us.

She is OBSESSED with pacifiers.

The Jackson Family of Four
I love how they pump you FULL of fluids when you are in the hospital and your face ends up like a moon...when it wasn't that big before you went in.

Time for Charlotte to open her present from Gigi and Papa. A bunch of goodies to take care of her babies!!

Naptime on Papa's belly.

Charlotte could NOT get enough of him. If he was on your lap, so was she.

Kisses, kisses, kisses

This was the best picture of 10 that we took.

Aunt Bare was so happy she could be here for this delivery. So were we.

He we are again. The new Jackson family.
It looks like Charlotte is pinching his toe and is making him scream.

Diaper change time.Charlotte was watching VERY INTENTLY.

Time for another Skype date. Time to talk to Aunt Kathy and Grandma Ann.

Dad may not be able to show him off to his mom and sister in person but he got to at least do it on the internet.

Quite moments.
Love Charlotte's feet here.

Almost bedtime. Charlotte insisted on helping Aunt Bare feed him.

We had a really great day. We were home from the hospital by 11. We just hung out at the house all day...well us girls did. Alex and Dad went shopping and got stuff for dinner. They used our deep fryer outside in the backyard. They made fried chicken, fried pickles, onions rings, you name it. It was delicious and perfect. Charlotte loved having so much attention from the adults but also loved having this new little guy to hang out with her. It was a great first day at home. Loved having the help from my family here.
