Sunday at Grandma Ann's House

Everyone loves Sunday afternoons at Grandma Ann's house. We have a scheduled time that we eat (usually 12 or 12:30), then everyone hangs out, watches tv, talks, plays games, runs around outside, whatever. It's a perfect way to spend a Sunday and if I was not 1,000 miles away, I would spend many Sundays there as well.

Somedays Charlotte loves attention and somedays she would rather crawl back inside the womb that she came out of. Luckily on this particular Sunday, she was loving her Weber side of the family. She got attention with every move that she made...and everytime I turned around she was wanting someone different to hold her. The surprising thing was she had been scared of most men the last time she was back, but she was all about having the guys hold her...include 6 foot 3 inch (that's a guess) Uncle Grant.

Ryan and Kurtis holding Kyla and Charlotte. The two girl great grandbabies.

Meliss took Charlotte out to ride trusty 'ole Sadie...the sweetest dog you will ever meet.

Charlotte loves her girl time. Her and Michaela were playing all over the backyard. Thank the Lord for beautiful weather in February...something Illinois is NOT used to.

Saturday night Charlotte was scared of Jake. By Sunday, they were buddies again... just like the first time she was back in Illinois when he sat in the recliner and held her allllll day.

I love Charlotte's face in this picture. Mom and dad were preparing to take her on a tractor ride. This was her face as she saw the tractor coming down the lane.

Papa driving his new tractor... he even backed her into the driveway. I can't even back my Tahoe into a semi tractor trailer sized parking spot.

As soon as she got into the cab, her hands went on the wheel.

All ready to go! She was even scared.

Checking to make sure everyone is sitting and ready.

Kyla Margaret Sibley. She is one of the sweetest babies in the world. Just look at face!

Between my dad and my Uncle Stinky, I have seen the two proudest grandpas in the entire world. They are so in love. I've never seen them act like this. In fact, no one has.

Great Grandma loves her some Kyla.

Happy Birthday Princess!!!

I love that as she is DOWNING her bottle, she sticks her toes in Aunt Didi's mouth. I mean, why wouldn't you stick your toes in her mouth.

Charlotte loves her Great Grandma Ann. From the minute she walked into the house until the minute she left, she talked and talked and talked... the ENTIRE time. Grandma loved hearing her.

Four Generations. I love this picture. Great picture of everyone.

He's such a good daddy. And he is so in love with this little guy. (I wish I had a picture of Eric, Amanda and Wayne but she was hanging out with the guys so I didn't get one. Next time I will for sure though!!)

It's love.

There's no place like home and there's no one like family.

Love you all to the moon. Thank you for coming and seeing us while we were back.

One Last Birthday Party!

We started celebrating Charlotte's birthday on Sunday January 29th and we had her last birthday celebration Sunday February 26th. I mean, every one year old that you know needs a 4 week long birthday celebration. Our last celebration was at Great Grandma Ann's house. Grandma made Charlotte a homemade red-velvet cake with her special frosting. Delicious. Even if Charlotte didn't know the different between different cake tastes, this preggo momma does know the difference. It was amazing.

Seeing her cake for the first time. She looks impressed...

...and ready for a sample.

charlotte's favorite part of the day... presents. She can tear through presents like no other.

"Happy Birthday to you!"

Charlotte: "I wish for a large piece of cake and a bottle afterwards."

She didn't exactly blow out the candle herself... but her wish came true...

Yay. Time to eat cake!

She loves to share... especially with Great Aunt Kathy.

Even though it was their first time meet, she thought sharing with her Great Great Aunt Doris Jean was a great idea. She shared lots of bites with her.

I love this picture. She just woke up from her nap. She has on her party dress, her sideways crown, and some big 'ole blue eyes. She is ready to go!!!

One this I truely miss about being within a close proximity of my family are the events like these. I miss everyone being together for a birthday. I miss everyone singing "Happy Birthday"... well, all of the aunts, some of the cousins, and Grandma singing it. The uncles and most of the boys were watching the Illini game in the big room. But it was just like when I was younger. We all met at Grandma's, ate a big meal of my choosing (turkey of course), and had an amazing time together. Thank you, everyone, for coming and spending the day with Charlotte. She loves all of you and she loves all of the attention. We miss you all more than you know.

Saturday, February 25, 2012

On February 24, 2012 (it was a busy day), after the first snow and first hair cut for Charlotte, we ate a delicious lunch at one of my fav places (Michael's Italian Feast) and we headed "Down South" to Grandma and Grandpa Schumann's house. They live in huge village of Kampsville where my fabulously awesome grandfather is the Mayor... and the police force if needed. I've worn the badge on my belt loop. It's pretty cool.

On this particular day, Charlotte was teething. Her top front right tooth was coming through and it was not a pleasant day for her. So she was only in the mood to hang out with momma. However, we hung out at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Great Aunt Betty, Great Uncle Paul, Aunt Bev, and cousins Robin, Mark, and Mary came to visit. Charlotte loved playing with little Mary but barely paid attention to anyone else. Poor, sweet girl. She just was hurting...

The next morning things started to turn around. She no longer screamed hysterically when Grandpa looked at her. In fact, during naptime, I laid her on him.

How sweet is this.

He held her for the entire 2 hours of her nap. She drooled all over him and they both were sweating. He didn't care. He said if this was the only way she'd let him hold her then he would take it.

Grandpa loved feeding her goldfish. She got a kick out of the endless supply showing up in his hand.

Even though it was terribly windy, Grandpa got out his Easter Bunny for Charlotte since we wouldn't be around for Easter. She was a having a moment so she didn't enjoy it as much as we thought she would.

Anne Marie came over to Grandma and Grandpa's house on the morning of the 25th to see us. We hadn't seen her since Christmas so we were super excited.

Charlotte had to be wherever I was. So when I sprawled my chubby preggo butt on the ground, so did she!

We took a similar picture last June. My how she has changed.

Aunt Bare and the Gooser

Aunt Meem was so happy to see her...and even happier when Charlotte started going to her.

We went up to the Kampsville Inn for lunch. Aunt Bev met us up there when she got off of work. Charlotte is sporting her "I heart my Aunt" onesies. Here she is with some of her aunts...and she LOVES it!!!

Sisters and babies...well, my babies.

Grandpa was so excited to show off his little princess...and even more excited that she went to him...finally. His favorite Great Granddaughter :)

And Grandma's favorite Great Granddaughter as well :)

It doesn't matter what Grandma's age is or the fact that she is battling (and winning) against cancer, she still crawls down on the floor and plays with Charlotte. You'd never know by looking at her, all that she's going through. That stupid C-word is not going to get her down.

The Great Grandparents with their youngest Great Grandchild

We loved coming to visit!!

Aunt Bev, we were so happy that even though you are working so much, we were still able to see you and talk and play and get our hugs in!

Kisses from Great Aunt Bev.

It was a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma looked really good. She had just started her new cancer medication the Monday before. She said she was feeling really good. In fact, she made us dinner and got up early to hang out with us. We had a great breakfast, great lunch, and spent lots of time catching up and talking. We love our visits with Grandma and Grandpa.

We love and miss you guys every single day!!!

Another Weber is Born :)

We were so excited to welcome another Weber to the family :) My cousin Eric, the old grandchild on the Weber side, and his fiance, Amanda, welcomed the perfect little Adam Wayne Weber. Adam Wayne (he will go by Wayne) is named after my late grandpa who passed July 1, 2001. He has a good strong name named after a wonderful man.

Charlotte and I were so happy to get to meet him on February 25, 2012. After visiting Grandma and Grandpa Schumann on the western side of the river, we hopped in Aunt Bare's Grand Prix and took the ferry to Carrollton. After a quick hello to Great Grandma Ann, Katie Jean, and Great Aunt Kathy, we headed up to Eric's sweet pad to meet the first of the great grandsons.

Great Grandma Ann

Look at his loooong fingers!!! I think Great Grandma is smitten :)

Sweet little talks

The pictures I had with Wayne were really blurry so I had to choose this as one :) Me and my teething baby. The oldest of the great grandchildren. She loves her mommy...

...and her cousin Melissa. She loves to give kisses!!!
