HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Happy Halloween from the Jacksons!!

I didn't know if I was going to take the kids trick or treating by myself because that seemed a bit stressful to me. So I decided I would for sure take them to Alex's work and let Charlotte trick or treat there at the very least. I sent a bag full of candy with Alex to pass out to people. Charlotte and I rehearsed saying "trick or treat" on our way to see everyone. It came out more like "Teet teet". But she would say it!

Alex was all prepared. I love this picture. Alex looks creepy and Paul (a car salesman) looks even creepier.

On their way to trick or treat some more.

The ladies that worked in the back office loved Charlotte's get up.

This is one of my favorite pictures. SO FUNNY.

"What did they give me???"

She was so excited about her candy.

Sawyer was loving it. Check out his left ear.

Her second sucker that she has ever had in her life. She LOVED it.

Priceless.

Hanging out with our skinny cow.

Sawyer's looking at her like, "What is she going to do to me??"

After we loaded up on candy, I took the kids home. Alex called and said that the guy he worked with offered to stay late so that Alex could come home early and trick or treat with us. We were so excited! He even picked up pizza on the way home! So he came home and got dressed up too!

My three kids :)

One of my favorite pictures. These kids are amazing.

Does this not just melt your heart???

She was super excited.

And they are off!! Everyone came to the end of their driveways since our driveways in our neighborhood are so long and the houses are so far apart. This worked out great and saved SO MUCH time.

Best Friends

Another favorite picture. Alex was talking to our neighbors that we had never met about our kids and stuff. He was trying to get Sawyer to talk and laugh. Check out the group of teenagers waiting for candy behind him. They were so annoyed. They were probably thinking, "Dude, get on with it. I want my candy."

We ended up going to about 10 houses. It started to get a bit cool and the sun was going down so we went home. Charlotte LOVED it. She saw dog-dogs, kids, got candy. Best day ever for her.

We went home and ate some Pizza Hut Pizza and just loved life. Our first Halloween of trick or treating. It went perfectly.

It's Pumpkin Carvin' Time!

You know we were either crazy busy or we were sick bc I did not take a single picture for an entire week. The entire family ended up getting the sickness. Sawyer was stuffy, coughing, refluxing, etc. He had to sleep on a pillow for a week in a half. Charlotte woke up frequently. Her and Alex were sleeping in the spare bedroom and Sawyer and I were sleeping in our bed. Every night for over a week, Charlotte and Alex went to bed around 9 pm together in the spare bed. At least she was sleeping fairly well even if she did wake up a few times.

Thankfully we all made it through the sickness and were feeling much better by October 30. Alex had the day off since it was a Tuesday. We spent the day doing random stuff and running errands. We came home it was time to carve a big pumpkin (Alex had already carved one).

SO EXCITED!

I can't get enough of that smile. She is hilarious.

WHOA. She said, "What's that?" I told her, "Boogers."

Amazed.

She was in complete awe of this.

Digging, digging, digging for pumpkin seeds.

Alex's idea. Cool right?

Just need to get these last few...
I forgot to get a picture of the final product. It was good though :)  We got our candy. We have our costumes. We are feeling a bit better.

Bring on Halloween!!!!

Hi Ho! Hi Ho! To The Pumpkin Patch We Go!

It's almost Halloween so it is time to get some pumpkins!!! We could have gotten some at Publix or Walmart but we wanted to get the whole pumpkin patch experience. I miss fall. Growing up in Illinois, we were always bundled up for the Fall Festivities. My kids were sweating in the gear I put them in.

Our sweet little MOOOOOO cow! Sound asleep.

Our big cow :) Charlotte was sick. She got a cold from our weekend in Atlanta. This is the day she started to feel terrible. She had a fever, running nose, and coughing a bit.

Picking out a pumpkin of her own!

"This one is perfect."

It was a nursery that we went to. They have the pumpkins shipped in. But they had them arranged so nicely and it looked cute. They had a tractor/hay ride that we took but I forgot to take pictures on.

Here she is coughing :(

Cheese!! So excited to be in the pumpkin cart.

Sawyer wasn't so sure about it. He was slightly uncomfortable, I think.

I love how she is just putting out the vibe here.

Kids, pumpkins, sunshine, cows, juice... what more can we want???

Our family

Charlotte wanted to go talk to the deer before we left.

Me and my tots.

She is such a cheeseball.

Love that smiling face.

We had such a productive day even with Charlotte not feeling well. We got a bunch of errands done, did a bit of shopping, and had lunch. We got some medicine in this crazy girl and she was feeling a bit better. Her little sickness lasted almost 2 weeks altogether. POOR BABY. Even feeling really crappy, she was still good. Our first Halloween with a pumpkin! So MUCH FUN!

A Fabulous Weekend in Atlanta With The Midgetts Part 3

What a fabulous way to wake up!!! Our whole family sleeping in the same room...Sawyer and I in one bed, Charlotte and Alex in the other. Charlotte woke up at about 6 am demanding a donut and juice. She was a HOT MESS. I ended up getting in bed with her and Alex and she finally settled down and went back to sleep until about 8 pm...thankfully. Once Niki texted and said they were up, we opened the door adjoining our rooms and away they went :) Gavin and Charlotte were so happy to have woken up in the same state, city, HOTEL.

We loved our balcony. Hotels don't really do that anymore... esp in a city like this. It was an old hotel that had been renovated. The kids LOVED the balcony. (Alex was a nervous nelly with the kids on the balcony)
Daddies and babies.

The kids LOVED the luggage cart. Loved it. It was the best game ever.

After we got our rooms all packed up and quardruple checked to make sure we had all of our belongings, we were on our way to the Atlanta Zoo.  We had to drive through some of the seedy parts of Atlanta to get there but we finally made it.

Our first stop was.....

The ELEPHANTS!!! (The Yayas)

She. Was. Amazed.

The main thing Charlotte took away from our trip to the zoo... the "yayas butts". You ask her what she saw, she states..."Umm Yayas... eats 'nacks...yayas butts....him butts"

How cute this is elephant statue??? And the smile on here face???
(Sawyer was dead asleep during this pic)

How pretty are those tigers????  They were even licking each other. SO SWEET.

Someone woke up to say "hey"!!

Check out the monkey thing looking at Charlotte. This was the other thing she talked about. She beats her fists on her chest and goes "ahhhhh". She talked about how the monkey/gorilla ate "nacks" and then "he runs!!!" (He ran across the little grass area)

Charlotte loves Parker :)

Love this picture :)

Daddies and babies.

Our wonderful friends.

"What's that?"

One more good family picture for the road.

She is so happy. She LOVES animals. In her head this was the best day ever.

CHEESE!!!!

Finally, a family picture!!!!

A kiss goodbye :( They left before we did. Gavin and Parker were ready for naps and they had a bit longer of a drive than we did.

Just taking it all in.

Right before we left, we ran into this crazy creature guy. Who knows what he was. Charlotte was a bit freaked.

"Goodbye, Lion."

We left the zoo after this. Charlotte needed a nap and we wanted to get home at a good time. I drove both kids in the Tahoe and Alex drove his car behind us. Charlotte slept the entire way and Sawyer fussed a bit but ended up doing fine and sleeping the rest of the drive.

I got some mommy time/talk on the phone time. It was good.

Thank you, Midgetts, for an AMAZING weekend. You are one-of-a-kind friends. I don't know what we would do with you. Thank you for meeting us for a weekend of fun in Atlanta. Our kids needed it. I hate that we are both in areas where we have no family or friends. I would be fine without friends or family if we at least lived near you. We need to do it all again. Can't wait until our next adventure.
