A Boo Boo

So, even though we have only lived in Columbus for 4.5 months, Charlotte is still VERY AWARE of the doctor's office. She knows when we get into the hallway leading to the exam room that she is not going to fare well here. Just the axillary temperature is traumatizing for this chick. She also knows that when she is laid down on the exam table and I stand over her that she is about to get hurt.

When she had her 18 month check up, their computer system and shot records were down. She had transferred from Charleston between her 15 month and 18 month check up. Well, in Charleston she was in vaccine study so her shots were done a bit differently. When the nurse in Columbus gave her her 18 month shots, she didn't realize that she still needed 2 more from her 15 month session. So, we had to go back to the doctor a few days later for her to get those shots. It was TERRIBLE. Thankfully mom was with me and could help out. That was back in August.

Fast forward to October 17th. We went in for her to get her flu shot (I wanted her to get it prior to our big weekend in Atlanta with the Midgetts at the zoo and aquarium). She was fine in the waiting room but when they called us into the hallway, she took one look and said, "NO." Then she walked back into the waiting room. I had to pick her up and carry her. She was already getting upset. When it came time for the actual shot, she was so hysterical that she didn't even feel it. The nurse that did it was awesome. So quick. We were in the room for a total of 3 minutes or less. As soon as we let her up/stopped holding her down, she was fine. No more crying. She seriously did not feel a thing.

We went by daddy's work to tell him about the boo boo. She never forgets when she gets a boo boo. After that we headed home....where we talked about the boo boo some more.

Here I was asking her to show it to me but she was distracted by the straw from Sawyer's bottle.

Love that extra long buttcrack!!!!

Once we took the bandiad off and moved on in life, she never spoke of the boo boo again. Until next fall...
