Charlotte Month Update: Twenty (20) Months

Date: October 8, 2012

Weight: We have no idea... probably around 22 to 23 lbs.

Height: About the same as last month

Clothes: Size 3 diaper and size 18 months clothing. Even though the size 18 months can be big around the waist, the 12 month clothes are just too short. I always get sad when she can't fit into her old clothes. We did, however, move some of her 12 month clothes to the play clothes drawer.  So, basically that means she will be walking around in "capris"/high waters and belly shirts all winter. We. Are. Classy.

Sleeping: Charlotte SOMETIMES sleeps though the night. Sometimes. We realize now that we have totally scarred her. For all of you who told meto have her cry it out....well, bologna.  She HATES her crib. She really does. She is scared of it. Screams when we put her in it. So, most nights, she goes to sleep in the extra bedroom or our bedroom  with Alex... or me if it is a REALLY bad night. She takes one FABULOUSLY wonderfully 2 hour nap during the day... around noon give or take an our. It's a fabulous 2 hours for all of us to catch our breaths:)

Teeth: No new teeth to report this month. Just lots of teeth. So we try to use our toothbrush as much as possible. She is CRAZY about her toothbrush.

Health: Healthy as a horse... isn't that what they say??? This kid has a FABULOUS immune system. She has been wonderful all month. No fevers, colds, runny noses, etc. Even her eczema is doing well... loves me some Aveeno baby stuff. Seriously, that stuff is amazing. The doctors told me to use Cerave but Aveeno Eczema baby is AMAZING. We try to alternate after each bottle.

Food: Our girl LOVES her food. She has started eating sandwiches independently. I love a good 'ole sandwich for lunch... usually ham or cheese on one of those small Hawaiian roles. Charlotte has taken up a love for the same thing. Ham/turkey, cheese, mustard, and a Hawaiian role. Somedays she eats it like a sandwich, somedays she picks it apart and eats everything but the meat. Every morning she starts the day off with a "Do-Do" and then eats breakfast a bit later. Now that she is good at cereal, she will sit and eat the heck out of that. Somedays she will have 3 bowls (child sized bowls) of cereal. She loves MacNCheese, grapes, watermelon, and has started liking pickles. She is doing better with her eating. She usually eats one really good meal during the day then eats smaller amounts for the other 2 meals. And the girl snacks ALL. DAY. LONG.

Talking: Her vocabulary is really expanding. This is the first month that she is really using the word "NO". She doesn't always mean "no" but she will say it anyway. A lot of her "C" words she uses a "T" instead. So for "Cold", she says "told". But she will at least try to say words when we ask her to. She makes sure to find a way for you to understand what she is saying, wanting, doing.

Personality: We have such a unique little friend on our hands here. She is spunky and fiesty. She is opinionated and determined. She so very smart and pays attention to EVERYTHING that you do. The spitting has finally come to a halt. When she gets mad now she will sometimes hit or kick me or she will throw something. The other day I got  mad at something that I stepped on and I picked it up and threw it. She comes by it honestly :) She has started the screaming, arching of the back, and kicking when she doesn't get her way. YAY for tantrums!!! She has really started mimicing people around her... esp when it comes to Sawyer and her babies. She will follow me around the house and do whatever I am doing to Sawyer to her babies. She recognizes objects and will associate them with people... for example, all coffee mugs are "Gigi". All belts are "Dada". All cats are "Max" (she puts the end on the word now). All bras are "Momma"... as well as soda cans. She is just so observant :)

Favorites: One of her favorite things to do is to Skype with my family. All I have to do is say Skype and she runs to wherever my lap top is and she tries to drag it to the room I am in. She knows the sound of someone calling on Skype. I think, in her head, she feels that Skyping is like the Charlotte show :) She loves it. When she gets on Skyp with Mom, she will always ask about "Belle" and  "Papa". But she is obsessed with Skyping and there are weeks where we do it every single day. She has gotten so good at recognizing everyone in pictures. Her and Alex will sit and look at a picture of the Webers (Mom, Dad, John, Anne, Jeremy, Mary, Chad and us) from last Christmas and she can point out every single person. She loves to walk while holding our hands. If she really wants us to do something will pull us by the finger to what she wants. She loves her movies. She rotates. She will be obsessed with one for awhile then switch to another. The funny part is that she actually knows what is going to happen before it happens after she watches them for awhile. She will say "BOOM" right before they fall down or she will start to dance right before they dance. She hilarious to watch a movie with these days :)

She is such a joy. She continues to amaze us everyday :)
