Over The River To Grandmother's House We Go

On Monday, April 30, 2012, Charlotte and I went over to Kampsville, IL to see Grandma and Grandpa Schumann. They are the Mr and Mrs Kampsville, the Mayor and First Lady of Kampsville, the King and Queen. It was rainy on our way over otherwise Charlotte and I would have gotten out of the car on the ferry for her to see the "wah-wah". I wanted to get her picture on the ferry but that just didn't happen today.

We got to Grandma and Grandpa's house right around breakfast time. Grandpa has become quite a chef so he prepping breakfast for Grandma...so Charlotte and I had a bit too :) You know how she is, looooves to eat. After breakfast, Grandpa headed off to the office, Charlotte laid down for her morning nap, and Grandma and I caught up on stuff... lots of stuff. :)

After naptime and visiting, we went up to the office to visit. Grandpa was HARD at work!

I love the expression on her face in this picture. It's priceless. She was talking to Grandpa.

The water bills are dropped off through the door at the office so Grandpa taught Charlotte about the drop box. She was so excited when she figured it out.

Check out Grandpa's shiner. Grandma fell a few days prior and skinned up her hand, sprained her hand, and bruised the whole left side of her chest and what not. Poor Grandma. Then Grandpa has this shiner. They are just quite a pair.
We went to the legendary Kampsville Inn for lunch... DELISH. Charlotte loved Grandpa.

He let her play with knives...

...and drink VERY sweet tea.

We had plenty of delicious food and I was completely stuffed. Charlotte was hyper off of sugar from the sweet tea. Afterwards, we headed back to the office so Grandma and Grandpa could catch up on their work. Charlotte played and watched Mickey. Uncle Terrill came to visit.

We then went for a ride on the official Village mule. We drove all around town and ran a few errands.

Charlotte thought she was so cool bc she got to help drive. We went up the street and got some ice cream. Charlotte loves her some ice cream.

Cousin Jerry came to visit as well and delivered Grandma's computer. We loved getting to catch up with him. He is hilarious :) Charlotte fell asleep in my lap while I played with her hair...and I fell asleep sitting up in a chair. Man, pregnancy makes me tired...

After naps, we helped Grandma run more errands in the mule. I could handle having one of them to ride around :)
Charlotte loves her some Great Grandma Millie.

Around dinner time it was time for us to get on the road. We absolutely loved our day with Grandma and Grandpa. We loved going all over town with them. Charlotte loved being spoiled by them. Our only wish is that it would have been better weather so we could have been outside all day.

Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa for such a great day!!! We love you! :)

Hot Tubbing

I shall start this post by saying that YES I KNOW pregnant women are not supposed to get into hot tubs. I've been told it's similar to hard boiling an egg. Charlotte and I got into the hot tub at Aunt Kathy's house but Aunt Kathy had turned the hot tub down to 97 degrees. It was cool enough that it was even cooler than my bath water. Charlotte also does not like hot water and she was fine with it... so I felt comfortable being in it.

I look swollen. Yuck. But I like this pic of Charlotte and Melissa.

Charlotte loves her Cousin Melissa... and her new swimming suit.

How sweet is she???

So these are way out of order... but here is Charlotte actually driving Aunt Diane's mini van from Grandma's house, down the lane to Aunt Kathy's house.

Deep in thought behind the wheel...

Oh geez... I should just take this picture off... OUCH

WAH- WAH

Aunt Kathy has a walker/scooter to use. Charlotte LOVED taking rides on it. I LOVE this picture!!! So cute!!

Sunday,Sunday

On Sunday, April 29, 2012, we woke up at Grandma Ann's house and were ready to spend the day hanging out with family and eating food :) Charlotte and I ended up taking a nap from 9 ish to 11 ish so by the time we woke up from our nap, a few people were already there.

Immediately after waking up, Charlotte is always starving. So, she sat on the counter and talked to Didi (which she can say) and ate Golden Oreos.

Charlotte loves feeling like one of the older girls. She felt so cool sitting up on Grandma's counter in the kitchen and hanging with Katie, Didi, and Grandma.

We were happy to see Cousin Ryan and Baby Wayne again.

Poor, poor Aunt Kat is alll laid up from falling. Stupid step :( Charlotte loves her Aunt Kathy...and the food she has on her plate.

My pretty baby.

How cute is her new outfit??? Mom found it at Kohls last week.

Auntie K with 2 out of 3 of her favorite babies. Charlotte loves Baby Wayne and despite the expression on his face, he loves her too.

Grandma had so much delicious food... I should have taken a picture... everything from homemade chicken n noodles to pork loin to mashed potatoes to jello to a roast and much much more...

Cousin Eric made Charlotte a fort... she wasn't quite sure what to think of it.

When Chase walked in, he was standing in the shadows a bit but Charlotte looked over at him and said, "Dada"... which is funny bc Grandma has always said that Chase and Alex resemble each other.  She went right to him and kept smiling at him... however, when we saw him the next day, she didn't call him "Dada" again. She did keep smiling at him though.

Melia and Kyla showered up for the rest of the afternoon. Kyla wasn't feeling well...she had an ear infection. Check out Charlotte's ponytail :)

So when my cousin Jake showed up, Charlotte smiled like this from the time he came in, until he left. How cute is this??? She LOVED JAKE!

She literally was flirting with him the whole time.

If Jake would leave the room, she would leave the room and try to find him. I felt kind of bad for him bc she was being so clingy but it was so adorable that I didn't try to stop it.

Check out that smile :) She was so happy.

The three grandchildren with the 3 great grandchildren. This was the best one out of like 50.

Soon there will be four!!!1

Charlotte loves her Great Grandma Ann. She literally just babbles and babbles and babbles to Grandma the entire time she is around her. It cracks me up.

Great Grandma with her 3 Great Grandchildren... someone has a better one that this but I don't know who.

Uncle Stinky and Charlotte playing with hair bows... naturally.

Charlotte loved playing Kyla... I wish I had gotten a picture of it. Here she is saying goodbye to Kyla her sweet baby cousin.

It was a great day at Grandma's... despite the rain. It went way too fast and it was so very great to see everyone. Charlotte loved the attention...and Jake. Oh, how she loved Jake. He had to slide out through the garage without her seeing him. She did look for him but we distracted her. For dinner, Uncle Darrin, Aunt Kat, Grandma and I had Diary Queen ice cream. SOOOO delicious.

Charlotte's First Boat Ride

Like I said in the previous post, Dad won a fishing boat. He brought it down to Grandma's house to keep it there for awhile for my uncles and cousins to use since Grandma has a few ponds and they live right near the Illinois River. Dad took it for a quick spin in the new pond just to make sure it floats :) I thought it was only appropriate for Charlotte to go for small spin/float out on the boat with Papa.

And they were pushed off!

She's not quite sure what to think!

She eventually did like it but couldn't quite figure out what was going on.

Charlotte loves her Uncle Poop (Yes, she can say Poop and she does know that when we say Uncle Poop that we are talking about him)

Good thing Chase drives a ferry... this small boat has nothing on the Miss Illinois. Getting her loaded up and out of the water.

I love this picture. Do you see what's funny in it????

"Let's go fishing!"

My all denim cutie. She loves the farm. Loves it.

There's No Place Like the Farm

Saturday, April 28, 2012, we woke up at the farm visiting Grandma Ann/Great Grandma Ann. We woke up and had Grandma's special pancakes and sat and played. Uncle Jim came by as he does every morning and Charlotte went right to him. Dad "Papa" came down to Grandma's that day for a funeral he needed to go to. It was so nice to see everyone. For the most part between Saturday and Sunday we got to see everyone... except Kurtis who was being good and studying for his finals at SIUE.

Dad brought his new fishing boat down. Charlotte thought it was hers :)

There's just something about pictures on the farm...

Beautiful.

Smokey had to be involved as well.

I love this picture of her. She's thinking.

Katie is one of Charlotte's all time favorite people. Charlotte goes CRAZY when she sees Katie. She loves her so much.

Been chillin' on a dirt road...

Love, love being on the farm. So does Charlotte.

My face is as round as the moon.

Baby Adam Wayne Weber. The youngest Weber... until August.

Charlotte loved her new swimming suit and socks from Aunt Tammy, Uncle Jim, Ryan, Kurtis, and Michaela... she also loved the bag they came in.

Kisses for baby Wayne.

We got to babysit Wayne while Eric and Amanda went to a wedding reception. The babysitters included Grandma Ann, Aunt Kathy (His Grandma), Uncle Darrin (His Grandpa), Me, Mary, Melissa, Katie, and Charlotte. I'm thinking he was well taken care of :) Uncle Rich and Mallory showed up at one point as well. It was a party but we had plenty of help... Charlotte REALLY thought she was helping.

Wayne loves Grandpa Griz

Here is Charlotte's new swimming suit! How cute, right???

Melissa was so excited to change the diaper :) She did great. She is such an amazing helper and the kiddos love her...and Katie. Charlotte was helping with getting Wayne ready for bed. She was helping put lotion on... she LOOOVES lotion.

We had such a great day at Grandma Ann's. It rained off and on. But we were able to be outside some. We  had a delicious lunch. Everyone kept filtering in and out of Grandma's. We went on Gator rides around the farm and hung out down at the pond while it sprinkled. Charlotte took her 2 normal naps. We went to town to see Melia and Chase's new house. It's beautiful :) It was great to see Kyla's nursery. Poor baby was sick but she is still such a happy, ADORABLE baby!! We had Alfonso's pizza for dinner and it was delicious :)

We watched Wayne until 11 or so. Katie spent the night so it was me, Charlotte, Mary, Grandma, and Katie for our slumber party. We watched a movie (I fell asleep within a few min) and had our usual popcorn/apple/symphany combo. Like I said, there's no place like the farm.
