The Sprinkler Park

Oh how we really love Daddy's day off. It makes it hard that he only has one day off at a time. It really does prevent us from wanting to travel a lot or go too many places. We wouldn't be able to leave until 8 pm the night before at the earliest and we would have to be home by the next night so he could go to work the next morning. SO we try to find stuff to do in the area that is fun. And now that school is back in session, there are less little gremlins running around the children's activity areas.

On August 27, we headed to the same sprinkler park that we had gone to with Jodi and the girls a few weeks prior. Charlotte jumped right in and started showing off.

She really thought she was doing something :) Alex encouraged her to do a chin up. She encourage herself to just hang around.

Charlotte is scared of slides (she has FINALLY started going down the baby slides but the big slides are a no no to her.) Sawyer LOVES a thrill. Total boy.

He was in love with it.

She hung out at the top and pouted a bit. She eventually just climbed back down the steps.

We headed to the sprinkler part of the park. It is a train themed park...even the playground equipment is train themed. It's super cute.
Sawyer, even though he had just visited the doctor the night before, had a good time. He was acting more like himself.

Gross. She was trying to drink the water.

She thinks she is so silly.

He is always up to something....

Note the bruise under his left eye. This kid, he has NO FEAR.

Where's Waldo? I mean, Charlotte.

The 27th was also a big day for our big boy. He stopped taking bottles that day!!!

I will finally have one less thing on the counters (I HATE having a ton of stuff on counters. HATE IT.)

We also put the high chair in the basement and got our big boy a booster seat. He was climbing out of the high chair and refusing to eat while in it. So, I decided I was over the fighting. We are a high chair free house now too!

He loves it.

Ear Infection

Well, I have been fortunate enough (my KIDS have been fortunate enough) that we don't have a lot of sickness going on here. Sawyer started with a runny nose and sneezing when we were in South Carolina the end of July. He continued with an off and on fever (possibly teething?), runny nose (clear runny nose), and crabby tendancies. Well, the night of August 10, Sawyer was up off and on (more on than off) screaming. He cried whenever he was laid down. He was tugging at his right ear. I knew Sunday morning that he had an ear infection. :( I called the doctor's office and they got him into their After Hours service. We had an appt at 2:30 that Sunday. PHEW.

After eating lunch at Gigi and Papa's house, Sawyer and I headed to the hospital for the appt. The doctor was super nice. He came in (in shorts and sandals) and looked in right ear and said it looked pretty bad. He prescribed him an antibiotic and away we went!!

First Illness! Right ear infection

The main ingredients to our next few days...

He was still cute and sweet even though he was in pain.

And she wanted to be involved as well.... of course.

As a side note, by the time we saw his regular doctor 48 hours later for his one year check up, she took one look at his right ear and said it was terrible. She said that if he wasn't fever free and acting a ton better by the next afternoon to call her and she would change his antibiotic. She said it looked really bad and that it should have looked better than that on antibiotics. We called on Wednesday afternoon and got the antibiotic switched....

FIRST TOOTH!

Our little guy has a CHOMPER!!!

He got his first tooth :) His front bottom left tooth came through...finally.
It has seemed like we were going to see that tooth come through any day. It FINALLY came through. His bottom right tooth is about to come through as well. Our little guy is growing up!

You can BARELY see that chomper coming through but it is there!

He also feels like he needs to walk and drink his juice. This walking thing is just great in his opinion :)

We. Have. A. Walker.

At nine months and 3 days old, Sawyer decided to finally walk everywhere. He had been taking steps for awhile but he finally decided to give up the crawling. He initially started crazy walking in the morning when we were hanging out with Papa eating breakfast at his house. All of a sudden, Sawyer just started walking all over.

He is sad here because I made him sit down for a picture.
I think he is saying, "Mom, I just started walking and you are going to make me sit???"

So proud of this big boy...although, now my life will revolve around a walker. Walk, walk, walk

And not only does he walk, he climbs. He climbs on EVERYTHING and then just stands there.

He is so proud of himself.

And she could care less...

Sawyer Our Big Boy

You know, having a child that is READY to move is really great. I know that I am lucky to have a child that CAN move and wants to move. However, he is just starting to do this moving thing way too early.

On April 11, 2013, Sawyer was playing with this fabulous little push toy. Charlotte came up and just took it away He took 2 steps toward her to ge tit back. TWO STEPS at 8 months old!!!

He is just ready to get walking!!!
And he feels the need to climb up on everything.

He is also OBSESSED with the stairs. He loves to climb them and starts heading up them as fast as he can.

He is so proud of himself.

Proud big sister cheering him on.

Almost to the top!!! (He did this in about 2 mninutes)

"Wow, I've come a long way."

"I did it!!! I did it, Momma!!"

Our little guy is just growing up way too fast. Love him so much and am so proud of him. But some days I just wish time would slow down.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail....

The Easter Bunny visited Charlotte and Sawyer at Grandma Ann's house. He came and left them some very fabulous gifts!!

We had prepared Charlotte that he would be visiting while she slept.
I think she thought we were lying :)

She found some fabulous surprises
...and out of the entire pile, the first thing she picked up was new "BIG GIRL YAYAS"

Sawyer we so excited for all of his little treasures.... like a boat.

Of course Charlotte has a zebra Easter bucket.

So excited for such a fun morning!!

"Mom, that bunny brought me a NEW CUP"

"...and a BOW TIE"

Sawyer was too young to hide the indoor eggs that the Easter Bunny had hidden but Charlotte was ALLLL about it.

Go girl!!!

Sawyer just crawled around and looked cute.

After presents and Hershey Kisses, Charlotte made sure to do her normal morning routine and feed the kitties. She knows where the food is, what the cats' names are, and the entire routine.

I love these cats.
I am a crazy cat lady.
The striped one, "Stripey" has stolen my heart.

And early that morning I found "Stripey's" babies just a bit after Charlotte fed her. They were in the puppy igloo.
How cute are these babes?????

We had an amazing Easter morning. Eric and Wayne came out nice and early. We had donuts and bacon and eggs. We hung out and waited for everyone to come out for lunch and an Easter egg hunt.
