A Fabulous Weekend In Atlanta With The Midgetts Part 2

We left the aquarium midafternoon and headed to our hotel, The Melia, to get checked in. It was right downtown so we got to stay right in the heart of it all! We got adjoining rooms so it's like we were all in the same room! The kids were MANIACS when we got the room doors opened up. They ran from room to room... eating, playing, going nuts.

Who knew this $9 stroller from Target could be so much fun???

This one cracks me up. Again, Charlotte gives Gavin THAT look. He was pretty upset about life right here. I can't remember why though.

Sawyer was so happy he got to stretch and kick.

The most perfect face.

HAHAHAHA. These kids were nuts... and chill little Parker was just along for the ride.

Such a big happy boy!!!

They made a toy out of EVERYTHING. Playing in our double stroll. AKA, the bus.

They both vetoed the idea of naps so we just moved onward and upward. The Ipad is a hit with both kids. Gavin knows how to work it. Charlotte just wants to tap stuff with her fingers. He got pretty flustered with her. Although, they still have never had a fight.

The two young ones...juuuuust hanging out.

After lots of playtime, mommies getting to hang out and talk, and Tyler watching a few games, we decided it was time to go eat dinner somewhere. We asked the front desk for suggestions and then we went walking with our parade of children. As we were leaving the hotel, a firetruck was outside. Gavin was so excited!! The fireman was so nice and let him sit in the truck. So sweet.

So we walked about 4 blocks to a restaurant but it looked waaaaay sketch. Niki and I were like, "Ummmm, no." We ended up just doing a loop and walking back to the hotel. We ordered pizza from a place I had had when I was in Atlanta with Kate. Tyler went to pick it up. Well, there was a huge miscommunication that ended with Tyler being escorted around dark downtown Atlanta by two homeless men that he was sure were going to mug him if he didn't pay them. FABULOUS.

While Tyler feared for his life, our children got baths :) So happy we had the rubber duck bath tub! Parker got a turn then naturally Gav got one. Charlotte just watched wishing she was lucky enough to get in the duck bath tub.

Tyler finally made it back. Safe and sound. And with pizza.

The kids, in their adorable little jammies, continued to play. They were OBSESSED with the hotel room phones. (I washed them to try to remove the nastiness before they played with them.) The next morning we found the phones in pieces all around the rooms.

Love this picture of Gavin dominated his piece of pizza.

This is the first time Charlotte has ever loved pizza.

Alex finally got to the hotel around 9 pm. He came in, got a drink, and some pizza and we hung out for awhile. Finally it was time for the kids to go to bed. They had reached their max. Charlotte was asleep after about 3 minutes off fussing. Gavin had his moments of fussing too before he finally gave in. They were to the point that they were too tired.

Alex, Sawyer and I sat on the balcony for quite awhile enjoying the view of downtown Atlanta (and I was secretly listening for gun shots.)

Perfect ending to a perfect day.

And the trip continues...

I forgot to add this... So, Charlotte and Gavin would communicate in their own way. He speaks really well in sentences and with clear words. Charlotte speaks in short sentences and her words aren't as clear. But she still does talk. As they were playing, Charlotte walked away from Gavin yelling "Baby NO! Baby NO!" She was shaking her finger towards him. He then said, "I can do what I want to." SO FUNNY! They were like a little married couple!!
