A Day At Home

Our Saturday morning started around 3 am when Sawyer woke up screaming. He had so major gas going on. He would scream then burp then relax then scream then burp...and on and on and on...

But we were able to see Papa and Aunt Bare off. They had to make it back to Illinois that afternoon because they had plans and Mary would be starting her "grown up" job at St. Francis on Monday. So, they got up and left around 4 am on Saturday morning.

Papa did not want to say goodbye.

We were so thankful to have had them here...Mary for 7 days, Dad for 5.

Charlotte woke up ready to go. She woke up looking for "SawSaw" and was so excited when she found him  in our bed. Naturally she had to get in bed with us and try to give him all of the kisses.

She has a wonderful day playing with Gigi, Dadda, Momma and Saw-Saw.

Part of her present from her new brother was a pair of slip on plastic high heels.

She was mastering them pretty quickly.

Since it was nice out, we had to get out there and play in the water.

Sawyer even hung out outside for a bit in the sunshine. He was starting to have a yellow tint to him and we didn't want to have to go on bili lights. He wasn't a huge fan of the sun, but we got through it.

Alex ran out to run a bunch of errands including picking up dinner. Mom ran to church in downtown Columbus (and she said the church is beautiful and amazing.) So, it was just me and the 2 kiddos for awhile...my first time "home alone" with them. It went well! No one had a meltdown.

Alex's best friend in the entire world's name is Drew. He went to college with Alex and they were both in the Marine Corps together. Drew is currently stationed in Cali at Camp Pendleton with his wife, Kate, and daughter Ella. We love them. Alex is Ella's Godfather. We miss them so much. Alex is obviously close with Drew's family and I have gotten close with them as well.  They ARE family to us. They are absolutely amazing.
They were going to be driving from Greenville, SC to Alabama. They wanted to take a detour and come to Columbus to see us and meet our newest addition. Alex picked up BBQ and we had a nice little dinner together.

Mr and Mrs. Hick brought our babies little gifts. Look at Charlotte all ready for bed in her jammies.

Mr. Hicks loves babies... Sawyer just slept and slept in his arms.

Time to snuggle with Gigi before bed.

He had a full day at home with us. So tired. So tired he can't even close his mouth while sleeping.

It was a great first whole day together. Love this baby boy of ours. Love our new family.
