After our walk on Saturday, June 22, we headed to the Old Settler's Days Parade. Mary met us up there. She brought Charlotte a Sprite which made her morning. Mary and Charlotte hung out on the blanket, I sat in the chair, and Sawyer watched from the stroller.
It started off with the police people, a few convertibles of people, the mayor Mr. Maurer and then the band which Charlotte LOVED.
Then, naturally, the old dancing people.
I love the fire trucks.
Mary and I both confessed that we get teary eyed when the fire trucks come through.
We were choked up.
Tractors could be found everywhere at this parade :)
And the most important tractor of all was in memory of my friend, Tyler.
Bill Christ, a family friend, redid this tractor and it was in the parade in Ty's honor.
How awesome is this??
Oh, Tyler, the world is not the same without you in it.
A lot of the parade was uneventful. Most of the pictures turned out kind of crappy.
This is my favorite picture from the parade. This was Charlotte's face as she saw the Metamora Redbird coming up on his motorcycle.
Her head instantly went down and she didn't look up again until the parade was over.
This silly bird ruined her parade experience.
Oh, who's this???
Oh, that's right, it's Mom. She is representing in the parade :)
Charlotte ended up being freaked out by three different things... the redbird, the falcon, and a man dressed up as a drop of water. So sad...
Time to go home for nap time.
