A Quick Day in Downtown Charlotte

On June 16, 2012, Charlotte and I planned to go to Charlotte, NC to meet up with family for mom's installation into her new position with the General Federation of Women's Clubs.  So, Charlotte and I packed up Saturday afternoon and went to Atlanta to pick up Anne Marie. She flew in from St. Louis and spent the next 4 hours in our bus with us as we drove to Charlotte. Poor Anne was stuck in the back seat entertaining Charlotte who HATES being in the car. We stopped and got a HEALTHY dinner at McDonalds in GA and then we stopped  in SC and got Charlotte some ice cream. We ended up getting to the Westin in downtown Charlotte, NC by 9 pm. My sweet baby Charlotte was wide awake and ready to party!  We were greeted by the Welcome Wagon AKA Mom and her friends. We got checked in, parked the bus, and hung out in mom for awhile. Anne and I were exhausted and slept like babies that night.

Sunday morning we got up and ran to Panera Bread and Target in Charlotte. It was the cutest area of town and downtown Charlotte is so clean and nice. I told Alex I wouldn't mind living there :) After we ran our errands and Charlotte took a nap with Gigi, we saw Aunt Bev and Uncle T. Then it was SWIMMING TIME. You can't go to a hotel with an indoor pool and not dip your toes into the facilities.

Charlotte got out of the pool for a quick snack... and decided to poop really quick as well.

After a quick dip in the pool, we got dressed and went for a walk and for a lunch in downtown. We got some delicious pizza and Charlotte enjoyed some scrumptuous Cheetoh's... How cute is her face here???

After our walk, we met Papa, Uncle Poop and Bare in the lobby of the hotel for a quick hello. Charlotte saw Aunt Bare from across the lobby and went running toward her. She's so crazy about her Aunt Bare. She gave Uncle Poop kisses and was completely bashful with Papa. She plays hard to get with him. After seeing them, we went for a walk to get some ice cream and to see a few more Charlotte sites.

It was a great day hanging out in the chill city of Charlotte. We loved getting to spend a bit of time there. Now, off to mom's big night!!
