Sawyer Month Update: Seven Months

Date: March 8, 2013

Weight: It's actually the weight he was last month. His six month doctor's appt was actually in March.

Height: Again, same as last month due to his six month checkup being in March.

Clothing: Our sweet boy remains in his 6 month clothes and in his size 2 diapers. He looks like a cute little man no matter what he is wearing. :) I love how you can see in some of these pictures how his hair rubbed off from him shaking his head back and forth while sleeping (due to his reflux). Poor boy. Whenever he has a hair cut, Kayla only has to cut the top and the bangs. He rubs the rest of it off. Little guy is wearing size 2, almost size 3 shoes as well. He isn't a huge show guy (unlike his big sister.)

Health: Our sweet boy has not had any health issues this month. We talked to the doctor about his gas issues (waking up crying/yelling in the middle of the night.) She went ahead and switched him to Soy formula (thickened with rice cereal.) He is off of his Prevacid now. When he is upset in the middle of the night, he usually fussy until he burps or passes gas then he is comfortable again. She thinks the Soy formula will help that.

Activity: We have a crawler!!! Why wouldn't Sawyer start crawling at 6.5 months??  I mean, why not just grow up as fast as possible???? So sad. :(  He pulls himself up on EVERYTHING (slowly but surely he does it). He can pull himself up in his crib now... which is crazy bc he looks so small when he is doing it.  He is starting to cruise on whatever he can reach. So, now that he is on the move, all bets are off....and Charlotte doesn't quite know what to do with him taking over EVERYTHING. Pretty soon he is going to dominate her...

Sleeping: We still have a crazy (not in a great way) sleeper on our hands here. Sawyer continues to take his 2-3 naps per day (9 am, 1 pm, and 4pm). He continues to want to go to sleep around 7 pm at night and he gets up between 6 and 7 am. (He has decided to go ahead and get up earlier and earlier.) He wakes up AT LEAST 2 times per night, sometimes up to 8. Well, I am not so sure I actually counted 8 times, but it seemed like 8 times. He is a bad sleeper. (He can sleep through some loud stuff, though. He just never sleeps long enough.) However, Charlotte used to be a bad sleeper as well. I think he will eventually get to where he sleeps better. And he waves now too. Not a big deal to some but it's the small things that make me so happy :)

Eating: Sweet sweet boy. The doctor recently switched his formula as I said earlier. It remains thickened. He loves his baby food that I make him. He eats basically anything that is put in front of him. He is starting to want to be too independent with his feeding which is making it a bit difficult to feed him his baby food. His hands get in the way. We have been giving him table food as well. He is doing great with soft carbs like bread, cookies, and cake. He has also tried bananas and peas in the whole form. He take 5 oz of formula 4-5 times per day. He is also rocking the juice. He is doing well with holding the cup on his own off and on. He is loving some apple juice :) He is doing really well with his eating now!

Favorites: Sawyer has so many favorite things going on in his life. Sawyer loves his big sister. They love each other so much. Wherever she is where he wants to be. He still LOVES to be held. All of the time. If someone else is standing next, he will actually go to that person out of my arms for a bit just bc he likes to be held and walked. He loves his pacifier (shocker since he was a colicky, refluxy mess for so long.) He loves bright toys. He loves spatulas from the kitchen. Naturally.  He LOVES bath time. He could stay in there for hours. He loves anyone's cell phones and the remote control. Kids love remote controls. Both of mine do and it always makes me feel bad about myself and my tv habits. They love it bc they know that I love it so much.  He loves being in the Baby Bjorn. We don't leave the house without it. He knows his Momma, Dadda, Charlotte, and his Gigi. He will go to any of us...but not really anyone else. He does usually cry when Momma leaves the room...even if Dadda or Gigi are holding him. He is quite the Momma's boy. And lastly, he has started talking!!! He says, "Momma". He says it all day long. He yells, he talks, he is vocal ALL DAY LONG.  This boy is amazing. He is going to be a heart breaker :)

I am just so happy that our big boy is starting to get over all of the reflux mess and pain. He is turning out to be such a sweet, quiet at times, kiddo. Sawyer, you are amazing :) Love you so much, Baby Boy.
