There Shall Be Gifts...

On Friday afternoon, November 22, 2013, we had planned to celebrate Christmas with the Jackson side of the family. Is it ideal to celebrate Christmas a little over a month early? No, it is not. However, Alex and I made an agreement when we got married that once we had kids, we would never sleep anywhere other than our own home on Christmas Eve. Growing up I did spend Christmas Eve visiting family and sleeping away from home (this was our normal and I loved it either way.) But Alex always got to sleep in his own bed every Christmas Eve and wake up Christmas morning in his own home and see what Santa brought him. That is something we really want to do for our children as well. The other reason we couldn't come much later has to do with Alex's work...and the fact that his boss's wife is due to deliver twins right at Christmas so Alex has to be there to help deal with the workload.

After spending the morning at the park, eating lunch, and taking naps, we all got ready and headed over to Mimi's house.

Sawyer helped Daddy drive. He LOVED it.

Charlotte said "PWESENTS!"

Charlotte loves baby Jesus. She knows his name and knows all about his mom named Mary.

All dressed up in their Christmas best!

They love each other so much...

Merry Christmas :)

Sawyer sat with Daddy and opened presents. He really got the hang of it!

Crazy girl just TORE through the presents. She was a maniac. She could have cared less that she was going to get to take all of the gifts home. She just wanted to rip the wrapping paper.

A Minnie Mouse outfit to play dress up!!!

An adorable moose outfit for he most adorable boy we have ever laid eyes on.

"What's in here??? For me???"

We have a funny guy on our hands!!

So many presents for such a little man. Our kids are so very lucky...

Mimi knows me so well :)
This was my awesome present!!

Charlotte and Aunt Adrienne. She was amazing during the madness of present opening. She had it all packed up and ready to go in no time. She seriously rocks.

I love this picture :)
Adults are so animated for the sake of children.

Bath stuff!!

Sawyer LOVED his truck and animals from Uncle Adam and Aunt Adrienne.

Grandpa and Grandma Jackson enjoying watching the babies open presents. Besides some amazing gag gifts, we got them a digital picture frame and we got them family pictures on the beach...to be taken immediately after opening presents!

Mimi loved her gag gift. Such a hot momma!
I have quite a sense of humor as you might know...or maybe not...but I love to give gag gifts. I think it's fun :) And it makes it better when they are all from the dollar section!!!

We are all so lucky and feel so spoiled after leaving a family Christmas. Thank you, Jacksons, for all of your thoughtful, amazing gifts. We love it all....and will be having to stuff the suitcases for the flight home. We hope you enjoy your gifts from us as much as we enjoy our gifts from all of you.

Celebrating Christmas in November may not be ideal but it's not about the date on the calendar, it's about family time together...whenever it can happen.
