We had a perfectly fabulous summer day on Wednesday July 17. It was really hot.... like mid 90's hot. So we played outside in the early afternoon.
This boy loves the outside.
The crazy lady in the play house!
And why wouldn't Katie fit into the kids' playhouse?
How cute does he look here???
Sometimes he just disappears. He just has his own little plan...
We had quite the set up going. Looks like a little slice of paradise, right?? Our yard ends where the pretty grass begins....just a side not.
Katie was doing an awesome job at watching Sawyer.
Katie's neat little trick with the little sprinkler pad for the kids.
Our little water controller. He is obsessed with hoses...and turning things off...and water.... and everything he is not supposed to be touching.
He really thought he was doing something.
After naps we headed to the fair. The Heart of Illinois Fair. Dad has been on the fair board since I was a freshman in high school (maybe even a few years before that.) Charlotte was SO EXCITED to go see the moo cows!
I wanted to get an old time picture taken of the kids while we were there.
How cute are they? (I did this each summer in college with friends and even my sisters.)
We stopped by the petting zoo. The animals (except for the goats) seemed a bit sad. So we just hung with the goats. They LOVE attention!
This little guy just kept talking and talking and talking.
Charlotte loved them. When she wasn't paying attention one of the goats reached over the fence and snatched her sunglasses off of her head!!
(I caught him on camera)
Charlotte and Katie...two pretty girls.
I really love this picture.
Sawyer hung out with Gigi and drank some lemonade while we visited the petting zoo.
As we were walking back to Gigi and Sawyer, we passed "The Robot"... a robot thing that rolls around the fair and the operator/voice of it walks about 20 feet behind him and the robot actually talks to people as they go by. Charlotte is scared to death of it. This was right after a sighting.
After the fair, we headed out to eat at Kouri's. The kids played around on the patio (more like ran around like crazy with no shoes on.) It was a bit warm but it was good. Mary and Chad met us there.
We had a perfect Summer day!!!
