Charlotte Three Month Update: Thirty Three Months (That's A lot)

It's hard to believe that in three months Charlotte will three years old!! The only benefit to that is that she is closer to outgrowing this "terrible 2's" which I am told actually gets worse at age 3. YAY :)

Our beautiful little princess has 2 sides to her that are as different as night and day. She can be the sweetest little angel you have ever met and a few minutes later you might think the devil has taken over. But we love her just the same and embrace the crazy wild child that she is. Here are some of our facts about Charlotte.

~She loves herself some stickers. When given a page of stickers, she will have all of them off of the paper and usually on her body within 2 minutes. No sticker is safe around her.

~Neither are bandaids. Last month I bought her bandaids at Walmart to keep her quiet while I finished shopping (they were cheaper than the toy she wanted from the toy section.) She had used 25 bandaids by the time we reached the car. We had 5 left by the time we got to the car.

~She had her first slumber party in the last three months. She slept at Aunt Bare's house just because....and a week later she decided that she wanted to sleep at Gigi's house while we were there one night. Now she is in a mood where she doesn't want to sleep anywhere but home with me. She will get over that some day :)

~She has gotten so very good at petting animals and not scaring them and coming on too strong. She is such a nuturer and so very compassionate to animals and babies.

~She has a bad temper that includes phrases such as, "NO! I don't want you!" and "No! I do it BY MY SELF!" and "Go away."

~She gets sent to a corner for time out and to her room if she isn't good in the corner. She also, every once in awhile gets her leg or bottom popped for extreme outbursts, mean-ness and fits.

~She spits on the ground...inside or outside....randomly. Not sure what makes her do it. She just decides to spit.

~She has a few different ways that she says things that make it seem like she has an accent. So far the accents I have noticed are Southern, Canadian, Minnesota, and Boston.

~She can count to twelve now and she knows her ABC's.

~She still uses a pacifier for sleeping and in the car. (Go ahead and judge us.)

~She loves her TV time and she loves the Ipad. She can work the Ipad all on her own and pretty soon she will be able to work the tv independently :)

~Her favorite tv shoes include but are not limited to Diego, Dora, Bubbleguppies, Paw Patrol, Sofia the First, Mickey, and Doc McStuffins.

~She sometimes wants to go to bed by herself and she sometimes still wants to be rocked.

~We are working on the potty training. She has really good days and days where you would never know that she can use the potty. She usually gets a reward for going pee on the potty. She will go anytime you remind her but she doesn't always remember to go on her own.

~She is starting to go with more people without Alex or I there. She has play dates with Miss Lisa and when we are at Grandma Ann's house, she will go off with Aunt Kathy, Katie, Mallory and Melissa. She will play for a long time before ever even remembering that we aren't there.

~She knows the difference between boys and girls for the most part.

~She talks about school and I prepare her for the fact that she will be going next year.

~She helps with vacuuming, laundry, unloading the dishwasher, cleaning, and cleaning up her toys.

~Charlotte is becoming more and more responsible and I can generally trust her to be good and stay out of trouble downstairs while I am upstairs showering.

~She tells Sawyer what to do all of the time and will usually tell me if he is doing something wrong. (Her delivery in telling him to stop what he is doing needs work though.)

~She has certain things that she just really doesn't like... our red Avenger is one of those things. She freaks out when she has to ride in the Avenger. It's always REALLY fun when she does that when it's just me and the kids out and about (as usual.)

~She prefers for Mommy to put her to bed most nights. I am usually the only one home during bedtime so I am sure that is why she prefers Momma but I usually try to get her to let Daddy put her to bed on the nights he IS home.

~Charlotte has started telling people she is sorry without us having to tell her to do so. She also usually says please and thank you to other people when she is with them.

~Charlotte speaks in full sentences all of the time and I can understand pretty much everything that she says.

~She says "I love you so much" all of the time and it usually when she is hugging us. If she hears me whisper "I love you" when I tuck her into bed, she says it back as I walk out of the room. After a long hard day of disciplining and hearing screaming from both kids, it's just what a mom needs to hear.

~You can find her singing and dancing all of the time.If you turn a radio on and give her a microphone, you just might need ear plugs. She really yells when that microphone is in her hand :)

~She is a dancing queen. We will probably be starting her in dance next year. She LOVES to dance....especially to the Sofia the First theme song.

~Her favorite songs are "Happy  Birthday", "The Wheels on the Bus", "Old Mcdonald" and "This Little Light of Mine".

~She is obsessed with babies, dressing up, purses, phones, and animals.

~She has fingerpainted one time and it was a hot mess. :)

~She loves playdates even if she has a bit of problem with sharing each time. She is getting better with it.

~She says her best friends are "Ella and Gavin."

~She has started talking on the phone with people when they call.

~When we are out of something like chips or ham or juice or even if something is broke, she will tell me to "Go get some at the store."

~She listens better to other people than she does to Mommy and Daddy. She also is an almost perfect child when she is the only child around :) She loves her one on one time.

~She  loves playing in the basement and outside and asks to go play in both every single day.

Charlotte is spirited and opinionated. She is a ball full of energy and emotion. She keeps on our toes at all times. She has more love inside of her than most people know what to do with. But she is a creature of habit and she gets overwhelmed at times. Her way of dealing with that is to be mean to others :) (Usually people she loves a lot like Aunt Bare, Gigi, etc.) Some days everything is a battle and some days nothing is a battle. But she is so smart, fun, and hilarious. We have an amazing child on our hands :)

She continues to keep growing....

Charlotte Update: Thirty Months

Charlotte is officially two and a half...going on twelve. She is a true hot mess. Here are some fabulous little factoids about her at the ripe old age of 30 months. (2.5 to be exact.)

~The attitude...the inner diva...the TRUE personality of this little girl is starting to REALLY come out. The kicking and screaming and fits have really started. WOW.

~We do a lot of time outs. Usually if there is one in a day, I can go ahead and count on a few in a day. We got days without time outs but then we got days WITH time outs.

~ She is really starting to sing songs and learn most of the words (or letters for the alphabet).

~ Her morning donuts and juice are still a must.

~She falls asleep on her own for naps and at night. She likes being rocked but she also will just go to bed. This has been something that we have been working on for 2.5 years. Phew...

~She is wearing 18 month and 2T clothing. She wears size 4 diapers and size 2T pull ups or underwear.

~We still have her go potty whenever she asks and before and after baths but we are letting her decide when she is ready to potty train. (Well, to an extent. If she is 15 and still wearing diapers, some judgement might be passed.)

~She LOVES popsicles. The minute we go outside to play she asks for a popsicle. She is allowed 2 per day.

~She sometimes repeats words that she shouldn't say. They are words her Momma usually says (lets slip) so I tell her that that is a "word only Momma can say."

~She loves to tell her Momma and Dadda "no" and she loves to yell and scream at us...and Sawyer. That will get her a trip to time out in the corner or time out in her room.

~Her usual time out is in the corner but if the fit is bad enough, she has to go to her room (that way she doesn't have an audience.) I really wish that she stopped the fit there. Usually she screams, kicks and yells for awhile even after the door to her room is closed. She does get an occasional tap on the butt if she is being THAT bad. (It breaks my heart and I ask God for forgiveness as I walk away. I am not kidding.)

~She is talking and talking and talking. Complete sentences, crazy words, talking ALL DAY LONG.

~She is a princess in her head. She LOVES to be a princess.

~ She loves Sofia the First. That is her favorite show right now.

~She still likes Nemo, Elmo, Big Bird, Shrek, and Mickey but Sofia takes the cake right now. She dresses up in her princess dress and dances to the opening song of Sofia. She associates anyone named Sofia as Sofia the First.

~She loves her friends. She asks to go see friends all of the time. She is really loving having one on one time with people as well whether it be Daddy, Aunt Bare, Gigi, Grandma Ann or Aunt Kathy.

~She says "I love you" when we say it to her.

~She loves to be outside and loves water (still).

~She is starting to play better with Sawyer and with friends.

~She loves playgrounds, is starting to like swings again (she has been scared of them for a year), and is starting to have less fear with new things (like going down slides at parks).

~She mimics most things that I do. She always has a baby with her at home and she usually has a purse.

~She loves to help pick out her clothes. She loves to wear bows and shoes. (She can wear her play high heels better than I can wear any heels.)

Charlotte is amazing. She brings us so much joy and stress in the same 5 minutes. Charlotte can push our buttons better than anyone I have ever met. But she brings joy, happiness and has taught us the meaning of unconditional love.

Lord. please give us strength and patience as she grows :)

I am going to try something new for Charlotte now that she is over 2 years old. I am going to give an update on her every three months. So this is her 27 month update!

This will contain a bunch of random facts about our little princess...

~ She wears 18 months clothing and size 5 shoes. She wears size 4 diapers as well.

~ She can put on her own socks, shoes, and gloves.

~ She can count to five.

~She loves to sing songs with us....like her ABC's, I'm A Little Teapot, and This Little Light Of Mine

~She says "please" and "Thank you" without being prompted.

~ She has a deep love for shoes...especially my high heels that EVERYONE knows that I don't wear.

~ She loves to arrange shoes and play with them. She arranges them in a line all by herself...and she can matches them all up.

~ She is obsessed with babies. She always has a baby with her....and a purse.

~Everything is a baby. She even takes the remote and burps it like a baby.

~Charlotte is really good in the car now. She usually just sits and watches her movie and has her "yaya" in.

~ She is obsessed with movies....like "Gnomeo and Juliet" and "Tangled" and "Toy Story 3" and "Finding Nemo" to name a few. She alternates on her favorite though.

~She is very helpful around the house...helps put away laundry, can put her clothes on hangers, and she helps unload the dishwasher.

~She knows different streets and locations... like when we turn onto our street she knows we are "home" and when we turn at the into Mom and Dad's neighborhood she knows that. Also everytime we go to the town square she says, "hair cut" because that is where we get our hair cut.

~She knows parts of the movie before they happen and she says some of the movie lines with the movies.

~She loves my cousin Rowe...she talks to him on the phone all of the time. (her imaginary phone).

~Anytime I am on the phone with friends or family, she will sit with her phone to her ear  or any object near her to her ear and she throws her head back and laughs really loud and hard as she "talks on the phone". Apparently that is what I do.

~She takes one nap per day and it is usually about 2 hours long.

~She eats all day long. She loves her donuts, her toast, chips, suckers, grapes, ham, cheese, and noodles.

~She will eat most anything that other people offer her but if I offer her something new, she will generally not eat it.

~One of my favorite things that she does is she comes up to the counter (or goes up to any counter whether its at Mom's house or Grandma's house) and she says to the person, 'Can I have two nacks please?" Then she will pay you "moneys".

~She is able to say part of her ABC's.

~She loves he friends and constantly talks about Wayne, Ella, and Kyla.

~In the morning when she wakes up, the first thing she does is wonder where Sawyer is.

~When we go through a drive thru, she yells back at the drive thru people.

~She loves slushies...especially at Target. I always get her one.  A mom's got to do what a mom's got to do.

~She loves to tell people to "SHHHH", loves to go outside and "bye bye" and loves to tell people to "Sits" so they will sit by her.

~Charlotte plays independently really well.

~She loves Justin Biener (The Biebs as she calls him) and she thinks that all young guys are him.

Charlotte is wild card. She is off the wall and crazy at times but she is also the sweetest little baby girl we could have ever imagine having. She is a ball of fire when she's mad. She keeps us busy, laughing, and yelling all in the same day :) Thank you, Lord, for giving us such a crazy, wild, cool, fun child.

She just continues to grow....
