Love At First Sight

So on June 6, 2014, Mary and I went on our nightly walk...something we had been doing since she was off of work on maternity leave. We had been trying to walk our baby Kamm. As we were walking, she was having some contractions. They weren't consistent and they weren't all that intense, BUT they were still contractions. Her contractions continued off and on throughout the night. The next morning, she finally had Chad take her to the hospital. The contractions were more consistent and they were becoming a bit uncomfortable. After a LONG day in labor and a scary moment of a low heart rate on the baby, Mary and Chad finally got to meet Baby Kamm.

Alex got home from work on time that night and we were still waiting for the baby to arrive. I left him with the kids and I headed to hang out with Mom, Dad, Katie, and Grandma Ann. They came up so Grandma could meet the baby right away. We all hung out at Kouri's and then at Mom and Dad's house. We finally got the call we had been waiting for alllllllll day.....

Baby Kamm is a girl!!
Lydia Mae Kamm

We loaded up and headed to the hospital to meet the precious baby girl...

Our first siting...

It's a blurry picture but I was so excited I couldn't hold my camera still. She is just perfect. It's love at first sight for all of us...

Gigi and Papa with grandbaby #3

You'd never know it was almost midnight.

Aunt Jazzy Jay in the house.
I am finally a blood aunt. I never knew I could love someone else's kid like this.
(Not my mullet. It's not greasy. It was curly with mousse in it and then it was POURING down rain. I had to move a carseat and everything else in the rain. Horrible.)

Great Grandma Ann. Holding great grandbaby #6

So sweet.

And Katie, who gets a bit nervous around baby babies, even held sweet Liddy.

The Kamms
A beautiful family photo.

He has fallen in love.

We only stayed like 15 minutes and then we left. It was overwhelming for the hospital for us to be there. We are a very overwhelming family. But we are in love. She is so perfect....and looks JUST like her daddy.

Congratulations Chad and Mary. She is a perfect little angel.

Aunt Bare's Due Date

As Aunt Bare's due date has drawn near....well, has arrived....there is not baby yet. Baby Kamm is still in there just cooking away and enjoying these last few days of being cozy inside there. Mary worked the night before then came over to visit us and play outside.

She was soaking in the rays and eating snacks with the two crazies.

CHEESE!!!

Again with the orange chips.
He is in love.

How amazing does she look at 40 weeks pregnant????!???
She did take her cover up off and had a bikini on. She looked fabulous BUT I would never ever post that of her. She did look so good though.

We had the pool set up. We had the jungle gym sliding into the pool. We had the sprinkler going.

It was a perfect day of fun in the sun. We got some good sun too. Mary was already burnt from a few days prior but she was able to even her color out. Even if the baby isn't ready to join us, we had such a good day. Thankful for quiet, chill, fun days like this.

A Busy Weekend...

On Friday October 4th, I headed over to Mary and Chad's house in the evening to take pictures of them with their pumpkins to help announce her pregnancy.

Some of them are cute and I am proud of some of them so I wanted to show them off :)
(And have them archived in my blog.)

Since I take my kids EVERYWHERE with me, they have to join in on the photos. I stopped and got them ice cream and star bars and brought juice boxes but they still got in on a bunch of the pics.

But she just loves her Aunt Bare.

I love this one. He just loves her so much.

She saw the boots for the baby and the baby pumpkin and my soda and those were the items she wanted....not anything that was brought for her.

Mary and Chad came over that night and we had a fire pit going on. It was prefect.

Saturday, October 5, was Mom and Dad's annual chili party. The kids and I headed down that afternoon. They took their naps there and I helped Dad get ready for the party. It was nice and warm initially....then the rain moved in...

Dad's little shack he builds each year that there might be rain. He worked like a dog getting all of this put together. He LOVES this party every year.

Charlotte and her Aunt Bare....

The chili party was amazing. Our friends, the Elliots, came from the Chicagoland area. They brought their little girl who slept upstairs in the packnplay until they left late that night. I got to see multiple old friends that I hadn't seen in years as well as close family friends that we haven't seen in awhile. It was a great party! Jodi and Ella even made an appearance. Alex and I slept at Mom and Dad's house. I drank way too much.... it was a rough morning the next day....

Metamora Homecoming

September 27th ended up being such a fabulous BIG day for us!!

We started the day out by running errands in Peoria. Mary went with the kids and I. She had been sick since Monday (a stomach bug) but was feeling a bit better. She needed to get out of the house so she went with the kids and I. Our last stop was Walgreens on our little trip and I had said to her, "You know, you might want to take a pregnancy test. No one has gotten sick except you."

Well, SURPRISE!!!

She is pregnant!!!

Much to her surprise (and everyone else's), she is pregnant again!!! She took both tests in our downstairs bathroom. It's like her lucky little spot...

So, she called her husband...and her doctor....and left to go get blood tests done due to her earlier miscarriage. What a huge (AMAZING) surprise!!!

The kids took quick naps then we headed up town to the Homecoming Parade. Mom and Dad were meeting us. I didn't really think too much about the chaos associated with the parking for the parade but my goodness!! Road blocks everywhere!! Thank God Mom met me, grabbed the kids, and then I drove a found a parking spot. Luckily I made it before the parade started. Mary even got back in time. (And was able to keep the secret from Mom and Dad.)

And we have spotted our first human dressed as an animal.

This poor girl. Chuck E Cheese traumatized her and she has never been the same. She can't even enjoy parades.

Although, I have no idea why there was a dragon in the parade...none of the grade schools or high school have a dragon/alligator/green animal mascot... Hmmmmm.... maybe he was just in it to freak my kid out.

Sawyer could care less about humans dressed as animals. He was loving all of the candy.

We were all in our red for the school spirit!!

After the parade, we headed back to our place. Jodi and her girls came over. Mary came over as well. We took her first pregnancy picture...which she doesn't like but I had to put it up. (Sorry Bare)

Jodi and I took the kids and headed up to the football game. We went with the intention to make an appearance and head home once meltdown mode started.

The girls LOVED it.

The band is ALWAYS a crowd favorite with kids.

Emily's face... she is just beautiful...

Abby and Mare were there as well.

Here is our crew. This was as meltdown mode was starting with my kids. After this picture we headed back to the shoebox.

We had friends over after the Homecoming game. I made soup, and Italian Beef, and snacks....it was so delicious. Sawyer and Emily went to bed pretty quickly after we got back. Charlotte and Ella rallied and stayed up for a LONG time. They watched movies and played so well together.

A few friends and our neighbors came over to hang out and eat and drink. Derrick and Alex (who wore matching shirts) got the fire going. Most of the people were gone by midnight. Us four plus our high school friend, Amanda, found our own way to entertain ourselves. This included jumping over fires and singing...really loudly..... And Derrick is obsessed with Miley Cyrus so we had to listen to quite a few Miley songs.
Finally at 2 am, we called it a night. Jodi slept on the floor of Sawyer's room with Emily, Derrick slept in the living room with Ella, Charlotte slept in her bed, and Sawyer slept with Alex and I. It was a short sleep but such a fun night!
