Sawyer's Happy Birthday

How many posts will we have for Sawyer's first birthday???  Well.... in MY world (and by default my kids' world) birthdays last an ENTIRE week. That's why you don't have you birthday party ON your birthday. You get more days to celebrate then...

Sawyer woke up feeling sick on his birthday. It was so sad. :(

But we still celebrated. He took a great little morning nap and then we headed to lunch at Avanti's with Gigi and Aunt Bare. It was a delicious and fairly quick. Charlotte was in quite a mood (it was nap time but we were forfeiting her nap for Sawyer's birthday festivities.)

We then headed to a farm park in one of the towns close to us.

Poor sick boy didn't quite know what to think of it.

He still looked so cute in his birthday gear.

Charlotte and Aunt Bare were crazy about all of the animals.

He wanted snacks...and to kind of look at the animals.

Oh the goats.... Mary got pretty mad at one of them. He was a bully. Mary kicked the fence a bit at him. It was pretty funny. He just was rude and stealing all of the food from all of the other goats! So selfish...

But they had this cow. We LOVED this cow. She was so beautiful....by far the most beautiful cow I have EVER seen.

Mom was in love with her too.
She was in love with mom's clothes.
She tried to eat part of Mom's skirt.

Gigi and her babies... the one on the right just looks so sickly.

CHEESE!

How sweet are these guys???

Mary knows I never get pictures with my kids. I love that she tries to get some of us together.

I look horrendous in this picture... I have side burns, a fat arm, and my hair all kinked and sweaty and gross. BUT my daughter looks so beautiful. She looks like a gorgeous little girl.

WEEEE!!!

Giddy up, cowboy!

She is so bossy. She was telling us all what she wanted us to do.

My little horsey lovers.

Hanging in the hay loft.

Charlotte even got to see what it would feel like to milk a cow!

Lady like? I think yes.

My gorgeous offspring.

Aunt Bare was such a help (and the kids really love when they get to have one on one attention.)

This is how he preferred to be at times... just be left alone.

Mary wanted to make sure the cow got a bunch of treats so she went and bought more cones of food for the cow. She has a heart as big as the moon for animals. :)

Charlotte's face was priceless as she watched the cow down the cone with the snacks in it.

Look at that face????

We finished up at the farm park and headed over to meet Papa for ice cream. Our sick boy took a nap and so did his big sister. We met Gigi and Papa at Emo's for ice cream.

Getting a drink from Aunt Bare waiting for Papa to get there...

Gigi and Papa and their little babes.

WHOA! That's cold!!

After ice cream, we headed back home. The poor birthday boy was just feeling pretty bad. His supper included a popsicle (what the birthday boy wants, the birthday boy gets).

Sawyer had a great birthday....besides being sick the entire day. He was such a good (subdued and tired) sport.

Hopefully next year he won't have a cold for his birthday.

Happy Birthday sweet boy....

Happy Birthday Uncle Poop!

July 9, 2013 John turned another year older! Another year on borrowed time... It is a huge thing for him! So on July 9th, Uncle Poop turned 33 years old!! Yay! So we well went out to eat at Alexander's Street Steakhouse. Yummmm

Uncle Poop with his niece and nephew. Charlotte was pumped.

I love this picture.

"Oh hey there birthday boy..."

Love this boy of mine...

Our sassy little princess doing her own thing at dinner.

Sawyer thought it was cool to lay on Aunt Bare then push his feet against the table and push himself backwards. It was his trick.

Someone was very tired...

After we went to Alexander's Steakhouse, we headed down the street for some ice cream at the Ice Cream Shack (or the "ghetto shack" as I prefer to call it.)

We were those people.
You know the ones that bring the kid with no shoes to a public place?
We were those people.
I am ashamed.

I LOVE this picture of Goose. Love it.

"I. Am. So. Cool."

Goosey helping Uncle Poop (or "Poopf" as she calls him) throwing their garbage away.

We all went home full and happy.

John, we are so glad that we can celebrate your birthday with you this year! Happy Birthday Uncle Poopf!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, we held it at our house. John, Mom, Dad, Alex, the kids and I all had a mid afternoon meal at our house. It was grilled out and perfect. I told Alex I just wanted to stay around the house. I had no desire to do anything crazy. I just wanted to chill out and feel like I didn't have anything to do. Mary had to work Saturday and Sunday nights so we decided to meet her at Emo's, the ice cream place in Peoria, on her way to work. This way she could be with all of us for a few minutes during Mother's Day.

Ice cream time!

Charlotte, despite how she acts sometimes, loves her Papa. She is crazy about him.

My two boys.

Mother's Day is just like any other day. (Although, every other day is not just like Mother's Day.)
I have one beautiful kid...

Look at that face!

And I have another beautiful kid... she is a knock out.

And a snuggler...

My family.

We ate some delicious ice cream. This was Sawyer's first ice cream experience... like actually eating a decent amount of ice cream. How do you think he felt about it???

Emo's might not be the FANCIEST place in town but it sure is delicious.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I got to spend it with my family. My kids were good kids and I had help all day long (that is a gift all by it's self.) I love being a mom. It is hard...very hard. But it is amazing. I never stop worrying about them. Even when they are tucked into their beds I am worried they aren't breathing or that someone is going to break into our house and steal them. They consume almost my every thought. I worry constantly that I am doing it all wrong. I worry that they will end up a serial killer, a cleptomaniac, a hermit, have absolutely no friends or social skills, that they will not talk, be rude, be violent... I have fears all day everyday. But at the end of the day I am one of the luckiest women in the world. I get to stay home and raise my two babies all by myself. I get to take part in their every growth, every milestone, every word, every fit, every snack, every bit of their life. I wouldn't change it for the world. I love being a mom.

Happy Mother's Day ladies. I hope your day was wonderful!!
