Beauty And The Beast

Every spring the high school in town does a musical. This year (and maybe in past years) they had a meet and greet with the characters for kids. So the kids and I went. We met the Becks there and had a blasty!

I had warned Charlotte that there might be humans dressed as animals or not as themselves. You know this causes a bit of anxiety for her.

Sawyer was excited for the endless supply of cookies and lemonade. No fear here.

Both kids love Kaedence so much!

He was just happy playing in the theater with the seats.

Little bests...

I LOVE K's face here. I have no idea what they are talking about. I'm sure it was life changing.

You could dress up as Mrs. Potts. (Even though Mrs. Potts was there, they gave you the option to try on a little outfit. Neither one of my kids were a fan of the idea. However, outgoing, sweet K was all over it.) How cute is she?!?!?

For the life of me I can't remember this chick's name. She is the feather duster maid lady.

Each kid got an autograph book. Look at Sawyer holding his! SO CUTE!
Both kids waited patiently in line for each person.

She got to meet Belle!!!
This is what it would be like for me to meet Khloe Kardashian or Mike Matheny. A little bashful but unable to hide the excitement.

Our sweet boy. He even jumped in. He wasn't even scared.

We didn't wait in line for Lumier or Cogsworth. They were too non human looking.
After everyone was done meeting the characters, Belle read a story to the kids. As they were sitting down to hear the story, the Beast showed up! Naturally multiple children started screaming and crying. It was a little funny. K was scared of the Beast so when she went running to the side of the stage to find her cousin that was helping, Charlotte went too. Sawyer sat right down with some girl we didn't know. How cute is this?

Charlotte and K sat with Kaedence's cousin. She made it all better.

It was super cute and a great idea that the high school had.

Pretty Kaedence. I love this picture!

The three musketeers.

This was the best of like 10.

He wanted a solo shot. How amazing is this?
No, we do not drug our children. They look this good all on their own.

I think this was when I told them the Beast was coming. :)

A Visit From Our Cousins

On Monday March 10, 2014, Melia, Melissa, Kyla, and Alana came up to visit us. I babysat Emily that day. As they were getting here, all of the kids were waking up from naps so everyone was in a great mood and ready to play! Mondays are Alex's early  night so he was home by 5. We were able to grill outside and Mary, Chad, Dad, and John came over.

Just hanging around!

He wants to be like Daddy. He doesn't say many words but he does say "beer". No worries....it was empty :)

Cousins who pee together, stay together!

How sweet are these three???

CHEESE!!

It was a delicious meal. Mac n cheese, green beans, corn, steak, chicken.... DELISH.

Alex is always the last one eating....especially with a grilled out meal.

Delicious dessert!
Note Charlotte's hand on Alana. She is obsessed. She feels the need to touch her constantly.

On Tuesday, we all got up, got ready and headed to Peoria. We took the kids to the Caterpillar museum. We didn't know how kid friendly it would be but loaded up all four to try it.
It starts with a movie. Sawyer started BAWLING. He gets nervous when we go into new places. He thought we were at the doctor. Perfect. He screamed. And screamed. When he finally settled down, we went back into the movie. The movie theater was in the bed of their biggest truck. It was GINORMOUS!!!

Check out those wheels!!!

Sawyer was in heaven.

The movie theater was in the bed of the truck behind Sawyer.

They had "games" for you to play too.

Alex was MIA for a long time. I found him at the games :) Typical boy.

We are comedians on the side.

Alana was so good. All she did was sleep. Such a good girl!!!

After we went to the museum, we headed to lunch at a Mexican restaurant in East Peoria. It was chaotic but the kids were really good...Considering we had a 3, 2, 1, and 4 month old. We then headed home to hang out. We had mostacolli that night for dinner. We watched movies and hung out. Kyla ended up with allergy issues while at our house so they headed home to the doctor on Wednesday morning.

We had a blast. The kids loved playing. They had a blast just hanging out. We were so glad they took the time to come up and hang out with us for a few days. And luckily, the weather wasn't too bad or too cold.

The Heflins Are Moving!

We are so excited that the Heflins are moving from the other side of the river to our side of the river! They are moving into the house on the family farm. The house needs a ton of work but THAT is what friends are for!

They spent their first weekend that it was open there. We went down to see them and help for a bit on Sunday evening. We ordered pizza and took them champagne.

Sawyer eating pizza on the "clean" carpet. They removed every bit of flooring and painted every single wall. Alex and I helped wash walls, tape, and paint. It was fabulous!

Poor Ella didn't feel well so she napped. Charlotte helped paint. Emily was as good as she always is!

We are so happy to have them closer!!!!

She will hate me for posting this BUT it was so funny!

We love them and know that having them closer means we will get to see them more!!

Happy New House, friends. Congratulations :)

Sick Days At Home

Our little man with Croup felt pretty bad for a few days. I didn't take him in to the doctor because there is nothing they could do for him unless he got so bad he truly could not breath. So, I just monitored him. We slept sitting up on the couch. We had a vaporizer. I gave him whatever medicine I could. We did hot baths with the shower running every night before bed. We did lots of liquid....or whatever he would drink....which wasn't much. The sound of his cough was so yucky and bad. He was so miserable. Days 2 and 3 were the worst. He barely slept and didn't want off of my lap. Charlotte ended up just getting a runny nose for a few days. It wasn't a big deal.

Here was our sick boy.

We could tell when he started feeling better because the goofy guy in him came out.

The kids were playing zoo. Charlotte was the zookeeper.

I would say she is the cutest zookeeper I have ever seen. Just sayin'...

This was the first day in a few days that they finally started playing together again.

They were so cute pulling these around the kitchen.

And then Sawyer just HAD to ruin her little zoo parade. :)

Poor poor buddy.

It took over a week to get him feeling 100%. It took a month to get him sleeping through the night again :) Perfect. But we made it through and we made it without having to drag him to the doctor.
